The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has announced that the boil order for Southern Oklahoma Water Corporation, located in Carter County and northern Love County, and the water systems that purchase water from SOWC has been lifted. The water is now safe for human consumption.

The order to boil water was due to E.coli. State and federal regulations require that customers be notified if, at any time, public drinking water is determined to be unsafe.

The following water systems purchase water from the SOWC and therefore have had their boil order lifted as well.

  • C&W Mobile Home Park
  • Ardmore Air Park
  • Hidden Lake RV Park
  • Cedar Ridge RV Park
  • By the Lake RV Park
  • Oswalt Road Resort
  • Lake Murray State Park

DEQ is responsible for regulating more than 1,600 public water supplies in the State of Oklahoma. All public water supplies are required to regularly submit samples to DEQ for routine testing to ensure that water is safe for human consumption.
